Akeela Songbook: Akeela is a Circle
Based on Circle by Harry Chapin
Camp is like a circle, Sunrise and sundown,
The moon rolls through the nighttime, ‘Til the daybreak comes around.
Akeela is a circle, It goes by far too fast,
Seasons spin around again, ‘Til summer’s here at last.
It seems like I’ve been here before, I can’t remember when,
But I have a strong feeling, That we’ll all be together again.
Akeela is our second home, It’s warmth and fun and friends,
Forever new beginnings, And memories with no ends.
Akeela is community, The parts make up the whole,
But much more like a family, This place is in my soul.
As we find ourselves here again, A thought runs through my mind,
Akeela’s like a circle, Let’s go ‘round one more time.
Camp is like a circle, Sunrise and sundown,
The moon rolls through the nighttime, ‘Til the daybreak comes around.
Akeela is a circle, It goes by far too fast,
Seasons spin around again, ‘Til summer’s here at last.
