Vermont At Its Best

Only 20 minutes from the college town of Hanover, NH, and an hour and a half from the Burlington, VT airport (BTV), arriving at Camp Akeela feels like stepping into another world! Our secluded and peaceful 400 acre Vermont property is nestled on the shores of Miller Pond, surrounded by rolling mountains.

It’s the perfect balance of rustic New England beauty and modern amenities to host your Vermont outdoor wedding. The pristine lake, exciting ropes course and cozy campfire site are all just steps away from hot private showers in comfortable cabins, wifi enabled work spaces and professionally catered meals!

Vermont Wedding Party & Guest Accommodations

Akeela has 16 spacious cabins, each with a capacity of 10 – 12 guests. Every cabin has a breezy porch, as well as its own bathroom, with two sinks and individual shower and toilet stalls. Additionally, there are several smaller cabins scattered throughout campus, with larger beds (e.g. full or queen) and private bathrooms. These are great for parents & grandparents, wedding party members, etc.

Vermont Wedding Food Service

Our camp dining hall accommodates 200 wedding reception guests. Half of the tables are outside, on our beautiful covered porch, overlooking the camp lake.

Our chefs can design customized menus that meet the needs of any type of wedding weekend you have in mind. During our camp season, they keep our campers happy with healthy and homemade kid-friendly food like pizza, fajitas and cookouts. That said, they’re equally capable of catering a formal reception dinner … and pretty much anything in between. We’re also very experienced working with any dietary restrictions, allergies and food preferences. Regardless of your menu selections, we promise to keep your wedding attendies well fed and healthy! (We also consider it our responsibility to make sure that nobody leaves camp without having experienced an authentic fireside s’more!)

Gathering Spaces

Akeela features a number of gathering spaces, large and small, indoor and outdoor. Our open-air, covered pavilion has a raised stage on one end and seats over 200 people. The Lodge is one of our newest buildings and can be used in a variety of ways; we can set up seating, provide tables for a cocktail hour, or leave it as free-flowing open space. Smaller multi-purpose buildings are also available throughout campus.

Now that you know you’ll be covered in case of rain, you can think about all of the outdoor spaces available to your wedding guests at Camp Akeela. Our hillside amphitheater is the perfect place for an evening talent show or wedding ceremony. The sports field boasts bleachers that can seat 150, and of course there are beautiful spots waiting for you all around camp.

Audio visual equipment can be provided to meet your needs at any indoor location. There are also designated locations around camp with high speed (fiber) internet access, for individual and group use.

Camp Activities

The best part about having a wedding at a Vermont summer camp is that … well, it’s summer camp! That means your family and friends can come together to celebrate your love, while having the time to play together. That’s why camp is so uniquely great at creating community.
